HaShomer HaChadash

Oct. 9th-10th  
Annual HaShomer Day celebration
To mark a decade of activity, the festivities will include our annual Olive Harvest Festival with fun-filled activities for the whole family. The height of the event will be the celebration of HaShomer Day at the Sando Observation Post near Tzippori. This will include the main ceremony, a live musical performance and family camping.

Historical Sites

October 8th and 9th

Sarona Visitors Center
Special tours for the whole family, including of the museum and the underground tunnels. A unique tour of the old Temple Colony’s wineries -- learn about the development of the colony’s wine industry and the future role these wineries would play in the founding of the Israeli air force. 

October 8th- 10th 
Minkov Citrus Orchard Museum
Guided tours of the orchard, rides on the reconstructed transportation train, and a special art workshop for visitors of all ages.

Ben Gurion’s desert home in Sde Boker
An exciting activity for the whole family: turning Ben Gurion’s hut into a unique escape room full of mysteries and riddles. 

HaReut Museum

Valley Train site in Kfar Yehoshua
An exciting day with the Bedouin community –cultural programs, stories and a traditional Bedouin meal.

Family Festival Khan Arava Shayarot

The Honey Festival at the Porat Hive, Ein Yahav
Porat is opening its gates and hosting the honey festival from the desert for the second time in memory of Hagai and Chacha Porat.

LOTEM

October 9th-10th
Sukkot at the Valley of Peace Farm will include a variety of enjoyable activities for the whole family, such as pumping water from a well, creating decorations for a Sukkah, and running an olive and wine press.

Entrance and activities are free of charge. The farm is accessible to everyone.
